Church of Prophet Elias in Plaisio

“In the traditional and very picturesque framework of friendship, several remarkable temples are preserved. It dominates the central parish church of Prophet Elias renovated in the 19th century, with an impressive wood-carved iconostasis, built on the tradition of the village, in Odessa, Russia. It is decorated with the frescoes of the 20th century and a large number of heirlooms, including images, holy utensils and golden-releases, dedicated by the famous Kyra-Basilica “husband of Ali Pasha.” It is still preserved in a silver case, as a particular blessing , part of the sanctuary of Agia Efimia, coming from Constantinople. ” WITH THE YRA 7828 / 7-5-1965 – Government Gazette 404 / B / 6-7-1965 has been declared a historic listed monument.
