Drepanos, and the continuous beach of Makrigialoulos, is the nearest beach in the city of Igoumenitsa and attracts a crowd of visitors in the summer months. It is a very large, about 4 km, sandy and shallow beach with clear waters, ideal for families with young children and elders. It is a fully organized beach that takes a number of years to distinguish the “blue flag”. It has functional lifeguards and ramp for people with disabilities. Along the beach there is a tavern, a plurality of moving coffee and the edge of the landless remarkable camping and a space ideal for cultural events. The name “Drepano” is a common named Cape and refers to their sickle shape. In this case, it emerged as a result of the breakdown and formatting of the river of Kalamas river materials. • Pan-Hellenic Concentration of Friends of Free Riding: The Equestrian & Mountaineering Group of Thesprotia “PIGASOS”, organizes almost every summer on the beach of Drepanos Igoumenitsa series of events on the horse.
Horses and riders from all over Greece are gathered there. Among other races are conducted, cavalry skills and arabian races. At the same time, children can come into contact with horses. Events are completed with awards and rich feast.
