Mountain village of the 16th century AD.

The village of Elakaria (old named Lalanitsa) is located 20 km from the town of Paramythia and 50 km from Igoumenitsa. It is a village built in Eylodasos. His inhabitants were traditionally engaged in livestock and given its position gradually increasingly with logging. After the end of the Second World War, however, given the difficult access, many residents leave the village for more lowlands and especially for the tributary Igoumenitsa. Gradually, the village was abandoned, however, the descendants of its inhabitants, since 2015 make a friendly efforts to keep the village “alive”. Thus, an attempt has begun to convert the village into a center of alternative tourism. The local Cultural Association has made an important project of recording, preserving old paths and through this effort revives and part of the history of the village. Suggested Activities
• Walk the “Spring (East) – Vryssi – Livadi Shelf – Spring”. “The path was one of the main roads of accessories of the village through the location of Livadi Seal in the location – Livadi area where the main farm of the village was located. His exploitation aims to use as a main access route to the top of Mount Clipper 1644 m. Advantage of the route is that it passes through a rainforest in a length of 2 km. And offers the shortest access to the top of the snow. The starting point of the path is 120 meters after the recently reconstructed main fountain of the village and under the Holy Temple of Panagia. It enters the firearm at the foot of Mount Raudovouni. In the position of gravel crossing the trail passes into the dense fir forest for the Eastern bank of the gravel to the position of the meadow segment after a dirt road 300 m to the halogen portion immediately then starts the portion of the path until the first large plateau starts before the Continue the ascension on the Western slope of the Kaki Top. The climb from the small hook leads to the second plateau in the mouthpiece. From the point starts the part of the route where it follows the eastern slope of Snowy until Snowypa. It is a hole on the rocky northeastern slope of about 5m and depth of at least 8 m data mainly historical at its bottom, the existence of ice even in the summer months and some residents were cured to collect and use or sell it as a cooling agent. The last piece that continues to the end of Western and Eastern slope to the homonymous top at an altitude of 1644 m. ” • Walk the “Agia Triada – Anemurnos – Lamvanitsa” trail. “The route starts from the chapel of Ag. Trinity. Access to the site is from the road Salonikis – Elaria (Lampanitsa) where directed for Lamprailitsa after the junction for Vereneis there is after 1 km (Position Stavros) Plate for Ag. Triad. By Ag. Trinity and specifically from the coherence area, which exists above the church, there is a path where it leads us to a small meadow with “traces” stone fence. From this point, the next destination is obvious, the 1107 hill. Climbing for about 40 minutes we reach the top. From this point we get visibility to the almbrella (1265m) and the snowstorm (1643m) located behind her. Let’s mention that exactly at the top there are residues of fortifications (trenches) probably since the 1940s. Starting for the almbrella we descend to the concierge with the soil not to create problems, quite blue with trails from a path that leads us after 30 minutes in the alegal. The top if and at least altitude than the surrounding is in a position where with good visibility it gives us a panoramic view of most Mountains of Epirus. So in the South we see Gorilla (1658m), in ND in Skydra, NP in Mourgana (1805 m) to rise behind Kamena Chase (1260m). Nemertika (2208m) and follow, Mitsikeli (1810 m), Peristeri (2294 m), Tzoumerka (2429m,), Tsoumerka (2429m,), Tsoumerka (2429m, The Top of Olysika (Themos) (1971 m). Leaving the western course we go down with caution to the next neck, trying not to deviate south because, having entered a few fallen logs to prevent us from keeping our course. At the neck base we will meet ruins (possibly) from a small drip. Slowly we will rise on the next hill where there is a visible path that will lead us by crossing the base of the snow on the dirt road above Koutsoufi. The dirt road will lead us to the neck on the base by Massovouni. Going up a little (20 m) to Massovouni There are ruins from home (“Giorgakikou” – Giorgos Rizou) under the imposing firs. Following the road that we went from Koutsoumi for about 50 m, we turn left to get the path for the village of Lampanitsa. Originally the path is inconspicuous descending. However, if the fallen fir logs clog the path, this in many places is quite clean. Generally what we take care of is going down to be for the first 600 m with the stream of the stream (Lakkia) on our left hand. The path will lead us to Liakkia’s bed and will pass on the opposite “bank”. From this point the path is well preserved and offers us a pleasant descent into the firs with the imposing cliff of the slope to the right to “supervise”. Reaching Low in Lakkia in the Path Path the path gets a western course and leads us to the church of Panagia and immediately after the top of the village, Central Vrissi. At this point, if you have enough time to take a tour of the ruins of the village from the “road” – a path that used decades before its inhabitants. From Vrissi and passing across the stream we will be in the old fountain of the village (with a construction inscription in 1954) and looking north to the slope we will find the old path. Following it after a few meters in our right hand we will find an icon that probably marked the upper entrance to the main village. The semicircular course we will follow in the lateral will bring us through the ruins of the houses of the passage by giving the opportunity to observe their internal layout and walk in the cobbled streets at the points where the village building was dense. It deserves a derogation of our course to descend for a while and visit the village school (unfortunately inside it is in a bad condition) and the church of Agios Nikolaos. Running on the slope we will lead to the exit of Lamvanitsa where you are signaling again from Vector (Ag. Nicholas). We continue to follow the old path that is engraved on the slope opposite the asphalt road. At the visible end, the path will be downloaded to the Lavoucitsa pit (approximately in Kalastrakas) and will eventually go to follow the asphalt road that is driven between large firs. The end of the route is located in the “Stavros” position below the road leading to Agia Triada “• Walk the” Molecopio – Kalaestraki Path ” “The path in the past offered access to small cultivated land on the northern slope of Mount Windari (1265 m) as it is a Source of Kaloei’s most famous sources. The use of this path lies in its use as an alternative route on Mount of Springra (1644m) as after the windshield sailing following the ridge to the west meets the Trail – Springra Path. The beginning of the route is located in the position of Moli, 1 km before the village of Elakaria. At the point there is a tap with water that descends from the source of Kaloe. The path leads through a densely dense oil to one of the most famous sources of the village, the Kaloeis whose name is derived from paraphrasing … good water. Continue the path leads to a neck called the windsheet. At this point, the visitor has the ability to choose between: the path to the top animal with the ultimate goal of the top of 1644 m snow, or visiting the top of the windscreen 1265 m. Located just above the seal. For the visitor who will continue to the snowmen will reach the base of the mountain where the snow trail will be followed. The main goal of the oil, with the primary objective of turning the village into a center of alternative tourism contributes to the opening of hiking and mountaineering trails while aiming to extend to cycling routes. It is recommended to contact the Association in order to find out about the implementation / development of the relevant network. The club can also allocate to visitors an experienced guide in order to conveniently guide the paths of the region that start from easily up to a large degree of difficulty • Similarly, the creation of the first climbing field in Thesprotia is a fact. The enthusiasts of the sport, but also of nature, are worth visiting! It includes 5 routes of classified difficulty, with the perspective gradually adding others. The field is 11 km from Egnatia Odos, the main road axis of Epirus and just 600 meters from the center of the village, therefore provides quick and easy access to those who want to combine mountain and sea, but also to carry climbing equipment. It covers about 15 km in Eylodasos. These are cleansed paths, signaled and recorded electronically “designed to provide classified tours and mountaineering routes, with the visitor to enjoy excellent routes in a fir forest and through them to go as a climber to tops, surrounding the area of the oleur , at an altitude of more than 1000 m by arriving at the third higher of Thesprotia (snow 1644m) dominating the village “• The Association restored the village primary school building to convert it to a mountaineering retreat – Environmental Information Center and cultural events
