The castle was about 4 kilometers away from the city. Skela Castle existed complete and maintained until the early twentieth century. In 1978, during the works for the opening of the foundations for the construction of the Palace of Sports in Vlora, the workers encountered traces of the walls of the centuries-old castle. However, the traces were covered and what was left of the castle was lost under the foundations and walls of the Flamurtari sports palace.
